Howea fosteriana - Kentia Palms

Howea fosteriana - Kentia Palms (Howea fosteriana - Kentia Palm)

There's hundreds of tall Kentia palms on the grounds of the Catamaran Resort. These were some located by the front entrance. Photo taken Feb. 23, 2013.

They are so slow growing in the bay area. I doubt you could really plan a garden around young ones. Thats slow.
Adding them here and there is best use. King palms? Them, you could use like a coconut in the tropics. Fast.

I had a Howea which grew very fast in Fremont. It grew 7 to 8 fronds a year. If they get lots of water and fertilizer you'd be surprised how fast they can grow up there.
