Cymbidium Hybrid Orchids

These Cymbidiums were growing very close to the beach in a mound of soil. I'm surprised they looked so good so close to the beach. Photo taken at the Catamaran Resort, San Diego, CA. on Feb. 23, 2013.

I'm sure these plants get a lot of attention, being at a resort. They are growing so close to the beach. They would need water and fertilizer.

Mine get no attention but bloom every year. I think that I scare them by leaving them outdoors right up to the first frost!!!

Yes, they need little attention like most orchids. Too much attention, meaning watering usually kills them. Most orchids like a cool period before blooming, except for the really tropical ones.
