And the sun shines bright on this first Pleione blossom of the year provoking a lurid purple glow against the still leafless wintery background. The green of the lawns shows Winter growth which provides grazing and insect food for the doves and other birds which frequent them.

StickToffee. No this is growing in a pot with an Easter Cactus on my windowsill and is very early but just could not stop it growing. I have noticed that The Pleiones always seem to do very well indeed when growing together with other plants? Mystery - Competition - not right? All wrong, but they just do. Perhaps it's the open bark-rich compost which I use for this type of plant, that's the secret

its a lovely one, i dont know very much about them ~ you need to ask Bampy ~ he has grown them for a long time.
