This photo is of a cancer survivor (left) and her rescuer (as she calls him), her physician. Because of disease she lost her job and started to do incredible ikebana´s from different flowers, crusts, branchlets and other incredible things you can find in woods. I will bring you a photo of her Easter decorations.

Yes, she lost job, her husband abandoned her and she almost lost also her flat. Now she is running small ornamental company and pharmaceutical companies help her with selling her flower decorations, like it was in this occasion.

To my 16 year experience, majority of patients who are able to totally transform their lives (bad habits, attitudes, physical lifestyle, spiritual set) - and probably that is very important in such situation, if not the most important - are women. So I was not surprised :)

Yes, isn't that interesting Katarina....I was actually thinking that as well, when I read your story. I wonder why it is that women tend to embrace lifestyle change and personal challenge, whereas men seem to tend to embrace physical challenge more enthusiastically.....we are different, and of course there are plenty of exceptions :)

And that is the reason, Karen, why women had to pay higher life insurance then men - because they live healthier and live longer. It was uncovered recently here in Slovakia - many western insurance companies operating here were doing that, but also ours.
European union equivalence lobby changed it this year. And that is good. I have alredy received the statement, that I will pay less.

Glad to hear it, Katarina. Here they have just changed the law so women must pay higher car insurance. Previously they might pay less because they are apparently a lower risk. So it cuts both ways, I guess! A shame they couldn't have lowered men's premiums to match women's ;-)

But what was the reason for that? It is general phenomenon, that women drive less risky then men and cause less accidents - but here they still have the same insurance, although lowering of payments is possible after some time if there wasn´t any accident in the history. No matter if it is man or woman.

I don't really know, Katarina. Insurance companies are a law unto themselves (not so much now, obviously!) But they factor in many things - age, area in which people live, etc, etc. Sometimes it is unfair, but they are in charge!

I think if you pay more and cause less accidents, you can deliver more money to insurance, then if you pay less and cause more accidents. Am I right? ;-)
