This is probably my favorite flowering tropical plant. This is a large one growing at the greenhouse most of my plants came from and it always has open flowers when I visit. I took this picture with my cell phone so hope it's not too hard to see.

I have two of these as well but they probably won't flower for at least 2 years. I've always been surprised by how much cold these things can tolerate and bird of paradise actually seems to like it on the cool side during winter. Be sure to take some pictures when it flowers!

A wonderful picture rkwright! I've got two plants in the conservatory which is unheated. They are doing well considering the cold winter we've had. I've got two flower buds on one...!
