I planted 50 in autumn 2011, and I suppose I have about 12 in flower. :-Z (I'd hoped for a carpet of blue). I hope they spread, but I'll get more next autumn anyway.

They are - what's your secret?

Mine have started to flower I didn't think they would as OH emptied the compost bin and dumped a load of compost all over the area where they were coming up but they have come through !! they do spread Barbara ,mine have .....

I haven't had much luck with the others I planted previously, but we'll see. Yours must have enjoyed their 'mulch', Amy! lol.

They didn't seem to mind it Barbara , what worries me is OH does these things not knowing where things are planted , he's brilliant at doing the ground work digging / making compost etc. but it's difficult to keep an eye on him ,plants go missing where he has been hoeing or digging,if they are above ground they are safe if they are underground out of sight .. not safe ... :o(

I understand completely - does he look where his feet are?

Not at all , my garden is beginning to look like a large pin cushion where I've tried to put canes in just about everything so that he doesn't hoe/ dig / or trample on hidden treasures . :o)

When he was wielding his pickaxe recently, on a huge root, I tried to rescue several plants that might be stomped on - but they still ended up flattened. Boo-hoo!
Usually, I put a flower-pot over anything vulnerable. I couldn't this time. :-(

Same here , we've also had the tree surgeons in this last autumn they couldn't care less about what is growing underneath the trees , I've given up on picking up plant labels laying on the surface of the soil ,I'm hoping I can recognise the plants when they appear !

I wince every time my husband comes to help with anything - yesterday he almost trod on my Hepatica nobilis buds and I screeched! :-O

My husband insist he doesn't need to wear specs unless he's reading , he most definitely does need to wear them more often he misses so many things :o(

LOL. (Sorry!) I was going to say he needs to go to Specsavers!
