Beautiful! When I was in Los Angeles last week many Tabebuia trees were in full bloom. Some are in full bloom here, also. They are more widely grown along the freeways in L.A. than here in San Diego.
I love those Royal palms! :>)

JohnJoe, It is hard to believe that there is rain ad snow on the ground some place .
Delonix1, These trees are amazing bloomers are not they? and are blooming everywhere now. Them and jacarandas. Looks like the African tulips are winding down now.

Yes, Tabebuia is such a showy flowering tree. I always look forward to them blooming here.
I'm guessing the African Tulip trees bloom most heavily during the dry season in Mexico, like in Australia.

The driest season here is April and May . Rains start in middle of June. I would not like to be here in April and May. Hot and dusty. Many dust storms and farmers around here are burning their fields and plant the corn before the rains start. So smokey as well.

That must be awful with all the dust and smoke! We most certainly know dust here in San Diego. LOL!
We only get smokey conditions when there's big firestorms, which usually happens in fall (during strong Santa Ana Winds).

Did you feel the earthquake Delonix? 4.5... somewhere between San Diego and Palm Springs.
11 Mar, 2013
Yes, I felt one of the three. I heard the largest was 4.7, initially they reported it as a 5.2. They're so small!
I've experienced much larger earthquakes when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. I lived through the 7.1 quake which hit on Oct. 17, 1989 (which was the worst I've ever experienced in my life) and the 6.2 quake which hit on April 24, 1984, and I'll never forget the very long 5.9 quake which struck on August 6, 1979.
In 1980 there were several quakes which struck on a newly discovered fault (at the time) in the Livermore Valley (35 miles south-east of San Francisco), the larger quakes hit on Jan 24th at 5.8 and Jan 26th at 5.6. magnitudes.

LOL, well documented events :-)

LOL! I knew the approximate dates, had the to look up the exact dates except for the Oct 17th 1989 quake.
