Bloomer - this is a very variable tulip, so there are several named varieties available. This is the original species, available from Potterton's in Lincolnshire

Are these early flowering Andrew? we have loads in pots and no blooms to be seen.....what a picture they make.

Yes DD, they bloomed in February last year so about three weeks late this time round. Really tough little things - I saw them growing in the wild in the mountains of Kazakhstan a few years ago

Lucky you what an experience, I think we had better start planting hardy Tulips, if these are the kind of winters we can expect from now on...
