To me, this conifer (neighbours) has taken on a whole new beauty with its snow burden:-)

Lovely...our snow is thawing very quickly overhere, thank goodness, the sun came out over 15 minutes ago. Hoping for a better day tomorrow :))))

A great picture - the palm at the back looks rather strange covered in snow too- not a picture you would normally see!

Hi Gralew, I wonder if it will spring back once the snow goes:-)
24 Mar, 2013
Michaella, you're lucky, still snowing here today, and over 30cm/12" deep here. :-)

Hi Yorky, I'm not really a 'conifer person' but think this looks lovely. How deep is your snow?:-)

No Scottish, they all look strangely exotic I think:-)

at least 2 foot. neighbours cleared the road so we can get to the shop but about 4 foot on the pavements outside, never seen snow like this before its unbelievable,

Wow Yorky, just a little less than we've got ....ours is about 3 feet deep and 5 foot on the pavements now:-))))) Actually itis about 2 feet where it's been blown, is it very windy there too?:-)

all country roads shut down here BA, only the main roads are open,

Aldridge was on Midlands news yesterday, apparently roads blocked and a snow plough in use. I haven't been out since it came. Main roads are ok and buses running I think. A group of people cleared our little road on Sunday, pavements impossible , no sign of a thaw, everywhere frozen. Thank goodness for Ocado:-))

Don't know BA, it probably depends on how long the snow lays on it. You've had it bad haven't you, and Yorkie? I'm crossing my fingers..... Ours has nearly all gone. It's still lying on the grass, but lots more green showing. Looking at the local news, it bad further out into the county, and Derbyshire, has had it really bad.Feel sorry for those poor people on the Isle of Arran, stranded without gas and electricity. Had my 3 new roses delivered... typical, will pot them up and pop them into my neigbours Gh. she's in Madeira for 2 weeks....Lucky so&so.:-) Keep warm all

Ooooh new roses! What are they? I keep looking, but I'm holding back in case they arrive before conditions improve :-)

One is a climber called "Zephirine" two others are Just Joey, beautiful scented one Peach coloured, and the other is "Chicago Peace" which is a pink one. We potted them up yesterday, I bet we looked funny carting them round to my neighbours on trays LOL :-)
27 Mar, 2013
I had Just Joey, took him out last year as he was rather aged, but lovely when younger. You're climber's thornless isn't it? I'm looking for a shortish climber, large crimsonish/ purpleish /magentaish flowers and strong perfume ...oh and endless flowering ...erm and disease resistant for an east wall. Do you think I'll find it lol?:-)
27 Mar, 2013
I'm sure you will. Sorry I can't help you, not really an expert where roses are concerned. Keep looking. I'll look in my rose book, and let you know if i find one! :-)

Thanks Gralew, you're a pal:-))

Hope I can find one for you M'dear :-)))))
