Very hard to obtain around here. Most vivid red when the leaves first open It just shines in the landscape early in the year. This maple is popular for its spring color not fall.

Very vibrant when the leaves come out first in the spring, then it turns greenish in the summer and red again in the fall. My favorite JM for spring colour. Very hard to get here and quite expensive.

mine are on the move now, fresh acer leaves are always worth a photo or two - - - - - aureum ( still in bud) is top of my list.
Deshojo ( my only bonsai ) is about to burst bud.
I'll pop acer photo comparison later, very different seasonal story exactly a year ago.

Bampy, I love the look of the 'Aureum' or Golden Full Moon Maple . I do not have it :-(
Hopefully in the future.
