my first year with them Sandra. i have taken on a collection from a retiring colleague. so its big new learning curve for me. i'm amazed at their fragrance and enjoying meeting each variety as they open...:-)

I remember you telling us you had taken it over..how lovely they are doing so well for you..My mum was allergic to them,but still wanted Dad to have them in the garden.. ..looks like you are fine :o) I don't recall the perfume.,but then again I was too busy playing to stop and smell the flowers Lol.

did your dad have them in the garden in the winter?
i'm finding it most exciting...must be 30 varieties..have to get to know them now and learn their names..:-)

I'm going back a long way now,Sandra..I seem to remember it was spring..I don't remember anything in the winter..only bare borders ! like a lot of people in the 50's.they only had seasonal things for a bit of colour..so different today..thank goodness..

i'm going to try a few in my garden just to see...i love to experiment.

i was taken by surprise yesterday with the sunshine and my poor auriculas got over heated....i should have opened all the doors but i was preoccupied...but after a few waterings and some fresher air today i think i caught them just in time....

The specials were grown inside, but the ordinary we still grow them (in pots) outside....
