That is a beauty. Have you had it a long time. I'm surprised if you had it out in our wet summer last year.

I got this early last year on a market stall.I've never seen it in a garden centre,never mind a market,although some must have it.
It was outside all last summer,although I think it is supposed to be kept dry in summer.Good luck with that.
It's been under cover since autumn and has had buds on since before Christmas.Until now,they have all shrivelled up before opening properly.
It comes from the Atlas Mountains in North Africa and I think will be hardy if kept away from winter wet.
If you google it you will see an image of its root system and can see why its in a deeper pot.

I just googled it and found their roots . They are long. Most of the sites say it does not like summer or winter wet so just as well to keep it in a pot in our climate. You'll need to give it a Bjs hat. It is a great find in an unexpected place. One of the sites described the petals as being like pink chocolate. That would go down very well with lots of our members.
