Saw this today in my pond, so it must be spring... Although I have a thrush that keeps robbing the pond of its snails.... Oh well keeps them happy :-))

I had a quick look at my pond today.
I was thinking about lifting it and laying it on the grass, getting it even and laying the turf I'm going to dig up from around my various shrubs (when I have the energy) and building the turf up around the pond. Well........there is toad spawn and I'm sure I saw a newt laying eggs in the algae. Now I haven't the heart to disturb it all!
