Heliconia stricta 'Jamaican Dwarf'

I'm so excited! This is the first time in almost 11 years that I've had this dwarf Heliconia that it is going to bloom. :>) Photo taken May 8, 2013.

Heliconia is a very heavy feeder and I don't feed this one as much as it wants, it's also in a pot.
My other larger Heliconias in the ground bloom every year very well. They do get much more fertilizer, though.

My problem is that I've never really fertilized this Heliconia very often. Heliconias are such very heavy feeders.
