Thats a shame Andrew - I'm not generally a fan of Ribes (although I put that down to the rather rotten one that grows on the other side of the fence in a neighbours garden) - If it doesn't flower well for you then I doubt it will do well enough up here.
My local nursery (Binnys) sells it - I will make a mental note to check it out and ask him how they perform up here. Thanks for your comment - it saves me jumping in with both feet.
