Whilst beautiful - I'm not impressed!! A bit of disappointment really. They were growing in a trough and didn't seem to be doing much. I transplanted them to the garden where they seemed to have settled. One died - the other 2 are flowering. I've cloched them to keep the torrential rain of them but I'm not holding out any hope!!

It's a very pretty colour but sounds a bit temperamental.

Thanks all. Karen I think this will be my last attempt!
Whilst beautiful I'm not up for worrying that it will survive!
Brian, I'm disappointed because I really thought I had given them ideal conditions and they didn't really live up to my expectations. All 3 of them have completely disappeared now. Still, that's gardening for you I suppose!

Do you have other Meconopsis in the garden.

I've one other a larger white Meconopsis. It's looking really healthy.
I brought some from my old garden with me 6 years ago Brian. They survived until the builders came!
The conditions where they are planted should be fine. The Camellias are very healthy as are the Rhododendrons. Maybe lack of sunshine or something eating them.

It looks so much like rose pink silk Scottish. I really hope it survives for you. I have a pink one too, but not this kind, and mine has yet to flower. Time will tell...my meconopsis are not doing very well at all this year, and I can see no sign of flowers as of yet. They are short-lived plants aren't they, and I haven't been replacing them every year as they are about £7 each. I've tried them from seed, but had no luck. I think I shall abandon the whole blue poppy idea, much as I love them.
