The wall behind is south facing so when the sun does occasionally shine it creates a "micro climate" and stays warm well into the night.

Last year was the first time i had ago at tomatoes & they did'nt do very well, mind you we had rain every day last summer, & this summer not much better, i've told myself if they dont do very well next year i'm wont do them any more.

You use solid green (unripe) toms and slice about 1/4 inch thick, bread with egg and then flour and cornmeal mix, with salt and pepper of course, then just fry in vegetable oil. Great served with goat cheese and balsamic vinegar reduction! A traditional southern speciality, that I have twisted just a little!!

Well let me know how you like them, they are very popular in the southern US, but most Americans haven't ever tried them either!
