Daphne x burkwoodii 'Somerset'

Daphne x burkwoodii 'Somerset'

The foliage and shape aren't as nice as Carol Mackie but it usually lives longer and the flowers smell just as good.

I got this mail order and when I got it all the growth was at the top. I tried trimming it back but I guess it's just going to grow that way. The bad thing about daphnes is they don't grow well in pots and don't like to branch out without a lot of encouragement so I think that is what happened. Somerset is kind of a narrower upright grower too, it's not as shrubby as Carol Mackie.
