A GoY member's house on the beach in San Diego, CA. on the Memorial Day Holiday. It was cloudy at the coast; however, not so cool...as the water temp of the Pacific Ocean in San Diego is already 72ºF (22ºC), which is pretty warm...we may see 80ºF (27ºC) water temps this year, possibly? Photo taken May 28, 2013. You can also see the Coronado Islands which belong to Mexico.

Thanks! Yes, there's a lot of palms and other plants which grow close to the beach, also.

Thanks! This garden belongs to a former active GoY member. This is at Imperial Beach which is located at the boarder of Mexico.

2014 is even warmer. What are the temps this year down there? Up here, its reached 70f off of Half Moon Bay. Hard to believe- but the water is warmer then most days in HMB!

Water temps have been consistently warm from this late spring and summer. the range has been: 73 - 78ºF. Last summer the water temp only got of to 73ºF max...which is more typical of our waters. San Diego Bay is always much warmer, though. In July of 2006 the water temp hit 83ºF (28ºC) in many areas along San Diego's coast. I think that's the highest water temp which has ever been recorded along the California coast. This water temp is more common for Hawaii.
