Bulb from South America, just a few inches high, and best treated as an alpine. Although cold hardy, it does not like winter wet, coming from mountains where it is covered with snow during the colder part of the year. Flower colour can vary from off-white through yellow (sometimes with olive tints), to brown. I seem to have been lucky to get a very good form. The flowers are reluctant to open on cloudy mornings, and close again at about 4pm.
