Looking across the Old Plum tree border towards fishpond

I love this planting Olive..

I do sometimes, but then others I think I have gone over the top, this time of year it is so full, the other end of this border is where I scattered poppy seeds and there is a mass of seedlings up, bit messy to look at, at the moment, but I am not thinning them out they will be amazing if they ever flower, will post pictures if they ever do. Must try though to get in amongst them and weed lots of dandelions coming in through them at the minute.

Well, I think this is my very favourite type of planting, Barbara. It's what I aspire to, but I do agree with your remarks, and I often feel exactly as you describe (mind you, my borders are a tad messier than yours!)

I do not like the regimented look in some gardens though Melchi, I much prefer the tumbling borders, if you understand what I mean, I am a huge fan of cottage garden style. I love to look at the formal types of garden but would never ever be able to stand it for long, it would soon have to have lots of colour and flowers put in to replace the solid structures lol. But after saying that everyone is different I know.
