Forecasting the results of football matches usually makes you look a bit of a fool, no less with capricious cactus clones. I was wrong; I am now a liar because this particularly vigorous specimen has once again excelled all reasonable expectations after such a long drawn-out, cold Spring/Winter and this time with five fully-opened blossoms all at once and is filling the room with its deliciously sweet, heady scent reminiscent of roses, which only goes to show what I know about cacti. I am delighted to be wrong; such a pleasure to be a bit of an emotional masochist.
