Now I realise why plants cost so much in the g.c. these are in their second year planted on from tiny babies last year and now doing really well, but still very small. Will plant on again at end of year, hoping to see them getting as big as the parent hosta on previous picture.

you certainly can was wondering if you would like, the parent plant is lovely. Hope they all come like it is. It is huge leaved and white flowers, nearly pure white not quite.

Wow - well done! It does give an insight to the work involved in raising some plants, doesn't it?

Good propagating work, Oliveoil ... I have thrown out a couple of H. 'White Feather' today as they just shrivelled and died! I thought they looked a bit insipid when I first got them in a mixed Hosta offer .......

Thanks Shirley, oh dear that is a shame, do not think I have seen that one though. Were they in tubs or the soil.

I had over Wintered them in pots in the GH ... planted them out with some others (which are all thriving) but they gave up ... :o(

thats a shame, these were all outside for the winter, I haven't got a g.h. so they had to take pot luck. I was so pleased when they came back for me, lost a few with the puppy running off up the garden with my plantpots, I laughed the other day when I found a hosta growing in a border where he had tipped out the contents for me. lol.naughty puppy, but funny watching him with his trophy.

certainly are Pansy, it is good to see them coming back, wonder how long it will take to get them to a good size. :O)

I would think they will be quite a good size for planting out later in the year;0)

Do you think so Pansy, I was going to put them into bigger pots and grow them on again. Not sure, don't want to lose them.

Well I suspose it will depend on how much they grow , but you are right a safe bet would be to pot them on;0)
