Plumeria

I gave my friend this Plumeria a few years ago as a very small plant. It was in a pot and I told her to put into the ground now it's growing much faster and bloomed very well last summer. Photo taken June 11, 2013.

It definitely likes being in the ground. I gave my friend the Bird-of-Paradise on the left, also. It was one I dug out of my back yard several years ago.

Orange petioles- never saw that on a Plumeria before.

It's actually pretty common. This plant has grown to twice this height this year.
