I've had this tree for a while and this is the first year it really looks good and has bloomed well. The first couple years in the ground it was very nearly killed by deer so I'm happy to see it doing so well now. The blooms don't smell quite as strong as the shrub forms but they are fragrant and it's nice to have lilac blossoms this late.
