Backyard Bonus

I have been cutting the grass and clearing raspberries to reclaim the backyard, but the wild mertensia I left to bloom out this year. I'll probably move them in fall to a more orderly display. For now I'm loving this nice wild bloomer freckling the space. I like the plants before bloom too, once the flowers come, the clump falls outwards, making a flat center. :-(

Thank you Janey. All the space coupled with my new found privacy, I feel like I moved to heaven! I am planning smaller trees in the gaps, a mountain ash is still to be picked out. That way I can create a lower canopy around the border of the area, hoping to deter people wandering in from the woods.

I bet you do......all that wild life too! Have just been looking to see where Fairbanks and the arctic circle are...ooh it looks so far away from civilisation!

Very far. LOL! There is just us here with the bears and the mountains. Next city three hundred miles. It is its own place, nothing like it.

Thank you Aleyna. yes, it is true. Fairbanks is large enough, 60,000, but the next city is 300 miles. So I have multiple grocery, even as far as we are. :-) This table I brought up from the old places front yard. It barely held together but looks good anyway.....LOL!
