Another winter visitor, but much more welcome. This marten I found bounding around joyously in the yard one morning and just caught this one shot. It was around each morning for a week or two, before I startled it coming out of the house heading to work. It will help protect me from red squirrel.

I'm proud of this one, what a lovely creature. Thank you Janey. It does eat squirrel as well as small birds and eggs. I already have neighboring squirrels feuding at my birdfeeder. Reds are territorial and noisy, really a nuisance. And with a birdfeeder, I have the danger of one claiming my house as his.

HA! I startled it, as I was coming out of the house leaving for work. It was just hiding under the car I was approaching. I hope I see it again. :-)

Thank you. Haven't seen it yet, but all these sightings were in feb-march. Probably more likely to catch it around again then.
