I spotted the first flower stalk on my day lillies today, my grandaughter has had them flowering for almost a month now, in her very sheltered garden, Derek.

Our Day Lilies have been flowering for a while now. I had to dead head a lot of buds to photograph them.

You are in the north too Derek. I notice a huge difference between my garden and the southern ones. We have to wait a bit longer. :0)

Hi Linda, my grandaughter is in the north as well, but she is in a more urban area, and very sheltered, whereas mine is very exposed, and more or less on the moors, there is usually about 3 or 4 deg difference in temperature, {having said that, I don't think I would like to live in a town or city,} although it can get very cold in winter, minus 22 c in the cold winters we had a couple of years ago, Derek.

I live in Glasgow Derek......it is always warmer than the surrounding area. Luckily I live in a beautiful urban area with big gardens, parks and lots of trees.
