I was trying some different settings on my camera and like how this picture came out. This dwarf Japanese Umbrella Pine is one of the most interesting plants I have and I'm almost surprised by how well it has done. It has never discolored in winter badly and always returns to a dark green color in the Spring if it does turn yellow. This is a very slow-growing variety, this year is the fastest I have ever seen it grow (1-2 inches).
