Planted up a couple of container with Dutch Iris (they wouldn't survive in the ground in my garden). The first ones to flower.

Now I am interested. I have had difficulty growing Irises. I didn't think of growing them in a pot. Did you grow them on the top of the soil in the sun? I just love them.

Thanks all.
Derek - no it's a young Weigela - similar looking colour though.
Linda - these are dutch iris therefore bulbs rather than Rhizomes. There are a few sites out there giving info on growing bearded iris in containers. They don't cope well in my garden either and am giving it a go for next year. I will transplant them from the border in autumn.
