Sweet Pea reaches first hurdle!

Sweet Pea reaches first hurdle!

One Sweet Pea in this trough has reached the first crossbar of the arch, and there's antoher almost there. I did think of puting string between the risers, to give them more to hang on to, but not sure if they'll manage without.

lol it was while it lasted - squirrel exacavations again. Would you believe I put about fifty seeds in these troughs - sweet pea, sunflowers and a pack of another plant, and all that came up were half a dozen sweet peas and lots of weeds?

lol taking them out and emptying the troughs! I'm moving in the next couple of weeks - no point lugging what is basically a trough full of dirt and seeds that won't grow. I probably didn't do these properly anyway. So I'll start again at the new place - and this time I'll read up on them first!

lol I did wonder if I were doing the right thing, moving 200 miles further north just as winter was coming in!

But a GoY friend said that I'd be busy sorting the house for a few months, by which time it'd be spring and there might be bulbs coming up all over the place where there's not even a hint of them at the moment. So every day could bring a new surprise, which is a nice thought.

lol and I bought 20 boxes of spring bulbs from Sainsbury a couple of months ago! I had no idea where I'd put them here, unless crammed into a couple of dozen troughs (which I've got, just not got the space to put them out) and the same might apply there - where to put them so I don't interfere with the gardens (still can't get used to the plural!) until I find out what's where, what it is and if I want it to stay there.

Lol a bit like the Chinese curse, these are going to be interesting times!!
