I cut off the affected stem to the soil Katarina and left the other 2 stems in place, that was in the spring and this is the first year it has happened.

What does the wilt look like?

The stems stays up right but the leaves just look a different colour and withered/dead on that whole stem, while the other stems may still look healthy, cut off the affected stem/s to the ground and it usually recovers. May do it for some years but I find as the plant matures this stops.

Thanks for the info, Drc!
Fore-warned, as they say, although I've never met, or even seen 'them'
Devilishly clever folk, nevertheless.
