Thanks Suey. It a wonder on my baked clay that they survive, although I do find plants such as Helianthus and Rudbeckias wilt if they go too long with out water.

Thanks Cosmosjane. Its a huge pot 36" by 36" with a Clematis and small obilisk in the centre, after the tulips died down I planted with Violas and it has Ivy on 2 sides. Its on a wrought iron stand and sits on the old well cover.
A real indulgence about 3 years ago and I love it.
