I bought quite a few of these last year from Whetmans Pinks. I can't tell you how fabulous they smell, I have some in a container outside the back door, it's a pleasure going in and out lol. They all came through that horrendous winter unscathed too. They flower forever. They won the Best New Herbaceous Perennial in the 2013 Grower Of The Year Awards and all royalties go to the Alzheimers Society until December. There is an opportunity when you buy of further contributing to this great cause:-)

You're used to it there, here, it's been suggested that workers should be sent home if temperature is above 30 degrees! :-))

I'm very tempted by these Ba, as I often think I don't have enough 'smellies' in the garden . . . will look up Whetmans, thanks :)

You're welcome Sheila, they stand up too unlike some others which seem to flop down here:-)

I have now potted up 10 lovely new Dianthus, Ba, but they are causing marital strife! OH says I should have put them in terracotta pots, "otherwise they will bake" (whoever pots things up into terracotta?). Then he thinks they should be shaded from the sun, but surely they need sun to grow??? I always thought I was a gardener, but obviously I know nothing :((

Ear plugs on the way Sheila:-) Some of mine are in a large metal container and I don't think I lined it, others in a plastic pot and all thriving. Are your too small for flowers yet? I can't wait for you to smell them:-))
