This tree is much larger than the last posted Royal Poinciana tree; however, it's not in full bloom, yet. Photo taken July 16, 2013 in San Diego, CA.

I think you meant to say Perth is at about 32ยบ South latitude. :) It's at about the same latitude as San Diego, CA. Perth is definitely warmer than coastal San Diego during the summer. It's closer to how hot it is in more inland areas of San Diego (like where I live). It's definitely warmer in winter in San Diego, though...as we have the hot, dry Santa Ana Winds which make our temps warm to very hot during even the middle of winter.
I'm guessing if you're warmer than Perth, you should be able to grow Delonix regia pretty well. The only drawback is that you receive more 3 times more rain in winter than San Diego and most areas of Southern Cal. Delonix regia really dislikes a lot rain during their dormancy.

The colors on Delonix regia can be from scarlet-red to orange-red depending on the tree.
I've seen photos from a Palm Society Member in Perth, Australia. The trees grow pretty well there. Supposedly they love all the heat there.
I've also, recently seen some very beautiful Delonix regia trees growing in Sydney, Australia. They were beautiful large trees.
Here's the link to one. I couldn't find the others.
