Meadow no 1

It's not a very good photo, I'm afraid. Not a terribly good meadow, either, yet. I'm still in two minds about it. Anyway, I'll be cutting it down next month, and keeping it mown until the Spring. Next year, if I'm persevering (I think I probably will be), I shall have a wider mown border. I do like the look of the yellow dandelion-like plants. OH never notices anything in the garden but actually said how much he likes the "overgrown lawns" so that in itself commends them to me!

Thanks for your comments, Tuesdaybear. I have just been watching Monty doing his meticulous preparation for his meadow. Ah well... I shall be mowing mine in a few weeks. Then I think I shall rake out the mossy thatch which should give somewhere for the seeds to settle. I am going to sprinkle some poppy seeds - they aren't really field poppies, but I can always pull them up if they look odd. Did you see Dan Pearson's lovely place on GW this evening?
I'm off to look at Sheila's blog!

Yes, wasn't it? So good to see after some of the "gardens" that are sometimes showcased.

Nice when OH notices your efforts! Have you noticed more wildlife as a result of your meadow?
P.S. There's another book discussion going on Shelabub's recent blog for KS!! Thought you'd like to know.
