First Tricyrtis of 2013.
It's a hybrid of an unknown T.formosana variety and T.lasiocarpa. It's a really nice variety that seems to prefer a little more sun than most (it's leaning out seeking the light in this spot) and is reliably early.

A real fave out of my collection Amy. I have the pure T.lasiocarpa coming along from the seed that Pimpernel sent me which I'm really looking forward too, but I may have to wait until next year for that one.

I'm envious I've bought several of these plants but none have grown in my garden ,they use to in our last garden ,it must be the soil ,do you know your Ph Meanie ? ours varies from 6.5 / 7.0

No idea!
I grow them in pots sunk in the ground until I have doubled my stock and can experiment with hardiness. eg; T.formosana is bomb proof, T.hirta borderline if wet. Drainage is key I think...............

Sue has a very large pot of T.formosana and T."Taiwan Adbane".
Buy in the spring to give them the best chance.
