Me too - it seems that Hibiscus need sunshine and warmth to flower. I have another one called 'White Chiffon' which hasn't flowered for three years, but it has buds this year. :-))

They are hardy, Karen. Not like the ones I saw in Italy!

Yes, I know! but there's never enough warmth to get them in flower before October here...then the frost gets them. This year would have been a good one though...but I expect we'll be waiting another 30 years for another summer. ;)

You're right, K. My 'White Chifffon' managed one flower this year, the first since it was planted several years ago.

I remember seeing them all in full bloom in the Dordogne in July some years ago. What a sight they were! I love France! :))

No contest - Italy for us! :-)))) Every garden seemed to have them, and they were planted along the roads, too.
