wonderful photo of plant and hummingbird...
theirs a really lovely video on "Amazing Hummingbirds of Canada"!!!! recorded on it is the breed of hummingbird you have photographed! the hummingbird in video has been recorded in flight at a feeder in someones garden and the humming sound they make, can be heard.. made me wonder do you hear that sound from a distance or when close? I to like Katarina would not expect humming birds to live in canada... AMAZING!!! for you..

We have dozens of them around at any given point. Yes, you can hear them from far ..especially in the mating season when they do their up and down dance. You can also hear the movement of their wings. They are very curious birds. They would hover around me when I am outside to see what I am doing and they really want to be sprayed when I am watering. We have mainly Rufus and Anna which stay all year round .
It is not cold where we live Katarina. We are in zone 8 .
Does word kolibrik ring the bell ? That is Czech for hummingbird, I believe.
