I'm glad you like the hanging baskets, Jane & Lynda. They have done very well again this year but I've started getting rid of some of the Petunias in the baskets as they were dying with mildew.
As to your question I'd like to plant them up with Pansies as I've done in previous years but the last few years I've had bad experiences with them. They have all died whether they were in the baskets, in the pots or in the troughs! I even tried growing them from my own seed instead of buying plug plants from the supermarket where my wife works.
I have LOTS of photos from the years I filled my balcony with them but the last few years have been disastrous. Last year I didn't put anything in the baskets at all.
I have a tray of Pansy plugs I got from the supermarket a week ago but I haven't planted up any pots as yet. I may do so during the coming week. I'll need to get several more trays of Pansies as well as Crocuses & mini-Daffs.
