This plant is the sign fall is coming. It starts blooming in late summer and early fall. It's feeling very fall-like today with a high of only 80ºF (27ºC) and a light breeze. Photo taken Sept. 18, 2013.

Palmate, thanks! :>)
I heard some people complaining about how cool it's getting for the morning lows, which are around 63ºF (17ºC), which happens around 5:00 a.m. You never win here...people complain about it being too hot or too cool! LOL!

Yes, very true! We are almost never satisfied! Although, my opinion here in San Diego 90% of the time the weather is perfect! :>)

Smashing plant!
I presume it likes lots of heat?

Thanks!
It's a tropical plant; however, doesn't need a lot of heat.
It should grow very well for you.

Size could be an issue..............

In a pot it stays very small; usually no more than 2 ft tall.
In the ground-- which this posted one is, then it's potential height is 12 ft. I keep this one at around 7 - 8 ft tall...my others around the front yard are only 3 - 4 ft. tall.
