Plumeria 'Hilo Beauty' Seed Pods

Plumeria 'Hilo Beauty' Seed Pods (Plumeria 'Hilo Beauty')

My Hilo Beauty is producing seed pods for the first time in the 10 years I've had it. Photo taken Sept. 18, 2013.

That's great. Now I know what to hope for after the flowers.

Young plants usually don't produce seed pods for some reason.

I care more about the flowers than the seed pods.
I ordered three move types of Plumeria seeds. Christmas gifts....everyone wants one. ;o)
Ofcourse I always keep one plant per color.

Yes, to me the flowers are definitely more important than seed pods! Seeds are too unreliable! Many times the seedling's color is not identical to the parent plant/tree. This is why I always get cuttings...as cuttings are always identical to the parent plant or variety.

I can't wait until my Plumeria 'Tomlinson' cutting roots. I hope it does before we get any rain! Too much rain during the rooting process of any large cutting can cause them to rot (even here in San Diego).

Here's my Plumeria 'Tomlinson' cutting rooting.
