Purple loosestrife

Like this wild plant. I presume you are near some water.

The bungalow is on a very large natural flood plane.The garden as a high water table.We are near the canal its over flow runs through the garden.We have two ponds to try and let the excess water to drain into..It works quite well.goodness knows what would happen if we did not have them.My mum use to say we would sail away one day.

Is there a lot of wild life on your ponds? In some ways you are lucky to have them, even tho' it might be a good idea to build an ark as back up!

In the large pond we have Moorhens and their babies.Ducks who come and go.Occasionally geese.Lots of Dragonflies when its sunny.The fish well we did have loads of koi carp but they were stolen a couple of months ago.We only have one left,we call him goggle eyes all the others had names,i miss them very much.Where ever they are i hope they are cared for.We also have lots and lots of rudd which range from tiny to quiet large.Oh and a couple of herons.Water Lillies,Water mint,yellow flag iris and a lot of reeds.
In the small pond we get lots of frogs,pond snails and i think water boatmen and lots and lots of Duckweed.
Not built the ark yet.:O)

Aw that is a shame about your fish, Suey - some people are just heartless, I'm so sorry for you!

I'm sorry about your fish too. Some people will steal just anything. Dogs go missing in this area, especially in the run up to Christmas, November time usually. They turn up in other counties where they've been sold on (if they've been micro-chipped they can be traced). The owner then buys them back & the thief is still in profit.

The worst part of it Helenium and Feverfew is not knowing how they are or where they are.My mind runs away with its self.My dog and cat are micro-chipped its a must,these days.There are some really horrid people in this world.

Suey, they've probably went to someone willing to pay, but, not full price - which leads me to believe that they'll be well taken care of - he/she will want to protect their new investment. You could place an add in your local newspaper, or giving the story to the latter that could be worth a try!
