Just after a shower. In a couple of weeks i will cut it down almost to the ground. A good dollop of home made compost on top, and wait for next year.

Why do you cut it almost down to the ground?

Thanks Janeplant for your nice comments, i am a bit sporadic when it comes to uploading.
Hi Alexandramc, Etoille Viollette is a late flowering clematis and flowers on new wood, so next spring all the new growth should flower from about one metre to three metres mid to late summer.

Aha, thanks for that.
I don't have any late flowering clematis.
