This tree is growing very nicely at the Medicinal Garden in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. I haven't seen any flowers yet...but it does bloom in Southern California. The very fragrant flowers are used in making Chanel No. 5 perfume. Photo taken Oct. 16, 2013.

I had one once. It did very well for a long time in a pot, then it died for unknown reasons, one summer. It's such a beautiful tropical tree.
It's a very expensive tree to purchase, even here in San Diego.

Lovely tree.
I bought seeds for this a few years ago....none germinated.

It is a very beautiful tree; however, it doesn't grow as quickly as in the wet tropics.
My former neighbor has dozens in his yard. They prefer a lot of water; however, hate the hard water here in San Diego.
