This is a new purchase Dawn as you know I rarely buy perennials, like you I like to grow from seed but veronicas are something I can never get to germinate!!!
Thankyou Jane :-)

Thanks Bloomer :-)
Tommymoo how are you haven't seen you on here lately, mind you I've only been popping on now and again over summer :-)

Theres a new wholesale nursery near here that now opens to the public, they often sell perennials for 99p and its hard to resist when you think what goes into growing from seed but not quite so satisfying as growing your own. Probably your own seed from this will germinate.

You're right, Simbad; the last time I logged in here was 4 months ago, according to GoY. I was a subterranean for quite a long time - well, GoY-wise lol I'm okay, thank you; not too bad. And you??? I thought about you every time I see the "shaggy" (you know what I mean). It flowered again last month (probably it is still flowering now) after I deadhead it in spring (or summer?). What a pleasant surprise! I just love it; it's soooo pretty. I'm very happy with the plant!! Thanks a lot!!! By the way in July eBay decided to forbid people to sell castor oil plant seeds because of the hazardous nature. I was totally devastated because I sold a lot (more than 100 lots this year) and even worth, the ruddy notice came just after my husband bought me literally thousands of plastic zip bags for me. Anyway, please tell me if you'd like some seeds (did you get some from your plants?).

That sounds like my sort of nursery Dawn I wouldn't be able to resist either, maybe worth trying to collect seed and having another try :-)
Aaaaw glad you like the astrantia Tommymoo, mines flowering again to :-) the iris you sent is huge now so I shall be protecting the flower stem from marauding cats next year lol.
What a shame about your castor oil seeds is that because the seeds are poisonous? strange I bet they still sell foxglove seeds, mine grew well and are still flowering, strangely not as huge as other years which I think other people have said this year to, you'd think with the heat we've had they'd be bigger, I'd love some more seed next year please don't think its likely mine will set any now, I bought lots of those zip lot bags to very handy for saving seeds in.

Let me know if your seeds germinate Kathy.

I really hope the iris I gave you is the dark purple one. It could be white/cream or blue x white or something..
Another disappointing fact from ebay.. I've just noticed they started to charge 10% final fee on P&P too! What a rip off! Terrible.. Well, let's not talk about the sh*tty stuff lol.
Like yours, my castor oil plants weren't very good this year, worst so far in fact. We had cold spring and lots of plants had a late start. And then early summer wasn't as hot/sunny as usual even in July. Greengages were late. So were plums for making prunes. Some of my bananas had hard time too because of the hellish (!?) weather. Anyway, I'll save some seeds and the dahlia tubers you liked for you :-)

Beautiful .

I will do Dawn :-)
Exciting Tommymoo I remember all your iris so don't mind which it is ;-)
Thats disgusting I haven't sold on ebay for a while now surely they make enough profit without taking it off postage a packing to!!!
Its been a strange year hasn't it the glorious sunshine but lots of things are late flowering or pretty rubbish must have been lack of water maybe??
Aaaaw thats very kind of you Tommymoo but please don't dig up that glorious dahlia just for me, wait till you have more to spare :-)

Thankyou Lynda :-)

Don't worry Simbad, the particular dhalia's got a bit too big and needs to be split up; perfect timing :-)
23 Oct, 2013
Thankyou Tommymoo :-))) I'll look over the winter and see what I have that you may like;-)I have lots of lilies of course lol but not all ready for splitting let me know if you see any you like and if they can be split you're welcome or if you see anything else of mine you like just ask :-)
23 Oct, 2013
Ohhh you're so very kind...
I'd love a daylily, please! Any lily ready for splitting will do because what I've got is the boring standard one ;-(
23 Oct, 2013
I'll sort out which I have to split Tommymo and send you a list, it'll be spring now though as its a bit late to split them now, if you search them all on here you should be taken to my pictures :-), I'm just about to put a picture of one of my favourites that I will be splitting 'Cameroon's'.
