Shiitake mushrooms

The logs, studded with shiitake plugs, finally started to produce mushrooms this year (it took 2 years).

Thanks Simbad! I'm chuffed! My father bought me 500 plugs (1,500 or more? for himself) in March 2011.

Thanks Lynda. My shiitake's got authentic/proper smell and velvety texture. Stuff from supermarkets doesn't smell much and texture is totally different.

Very clever, growing them yourself. Well done. I've never eaten them. They're a bit pricey to buy.
