Wonderful, well done,I grew packet of mixed toma this year. I have a good varied selection but none as large as yours. I did have a wonderful pinky mauve one which had a very good flavour, best I have tasted for a long time.

That just depends on which variety you grow. I found that one of the most tastiest tomatoes I've grown is the smaller cherry tomatoes, particularly - Sungold. They go great with bacon and eggs (sauté them for a minute or two in the bacon grease, salt and pepper, yum!!!)

Thank you Suey187. There's nothing like growing your own tomatoes. Everyday there is plenty for me to eat no matter how hungry I am.

Nothing better than growing your own Bathgate! Suey I love the smell of tomato plants when you water them in the green house! I could stand there for ages sniffing the aroma!

I love that aroma too. It's the smell of good things to come - like slicing open a freshly picked beefsteak tomato and discovering what a tomato taste like for the first time. I've been eating them everyday in one form or another and never tire of them.

I love the smell of freshly cut cucumber! But I've never grown them. However, a couple of years ago, I grew my own lettuce for the first time ever! I was eager to taste the first one, so when I had two decent leaves, I pulled them off - one for me and one for OH! I sprinkled them with a little olive oil and rock salt... They were just so delicious ;o)

That sounds good. I'll have to add lettuce to my list for next year. What variety did you grow?
