Lovely. Saw a film about them on tv a few years back. It was hilarious, everyone was talking about it. I wish they'd put it on again , so I could record. The noise they made when settling to roost at night! No.one would want them roosting near their house.

Most cockatoos squawk - especially the old bossy one, who wants to dominate the whole area - they go berserk at possums, but never, in their wisdom and elegance, touch a possum....frightening horror beak threatening behaviour. The one in the picture is wild but young and a true silent friend I feed it sunflower seeds and it likes to eat rye-vita biscuits in its paws. It only get fed when it comes by itself. I am teaching it english...."Hello cocky". It brings loudmouth "grandfather" along for a feed, I shudder, and but I refuse any feed to grandfather who always connives to deceive me about his arrival. They have tried every trick in the book to bluff me....bring along his girlfriend, the grandfathers harem, flying in solo with grandfather arriving immediate afterwards, grandfather alone, grandfather piercing and comb waving. They give up quickly.
I think they are learning, but the younger one looks all around to catch my attention and lands on the brick windowsill to get my attention. They loved landing on the Gleditseas which I believe a possum virus infected. We still have possum droppings.
Cheers
