Only spent an hour out there, been busy doing housework etc. but as the sun was shining it just beckoned me out there. It was bright but cold so did some edging and some cutting down of dying plants. Looked good when it was finished.

Thank you all :O) the pots are not strawberries but alpine plants and the top pot has a Hosta - June in it. It has died back now and the others are still trailing think they will stay green for me through winter. :O)

thank you Pansy, been out and had another hour this morning, it will get done little by little. I am nearing the big border and that is not going to be a little job. lol. I shall take it in about four or five bites, it is so big. Just keep putting the start up of it off. I know I have to do it. It is not so much the chopping and pulling out but the clearing away after I have been bent down it seems to take an age for my old bones to get straightened up again. lol. Ah well if it snows, as they have forecast, it will cover it all up and I shall not be able to do the work. lol. This is very wet and soggy too but after all the dry this summer I am sure the plants have welcomed the damp soil. Hope you get through yours soon. :O) Good to know everyone else is chopping and sorting out in their gardens and I am not on my own toiling through the debris. lol. :O)

You are certainly not on your own, Barbara. This is not a job I am good at! I tell myself that I leave things for the wildlife, and it is true to an extent. But if I am really honest, I have never "put the garden to bed" in my life! So I always have quite a task in the Spring. But this year, I am making an effort, I promise!

lol Melchi, I have done it both ways. I find that if I leave it not chopped down though, that the bulbs are hidden from view as they emerge in March and I love to see them poking through the ground, so encouraging to see them emerging. I love springtime so much. So now I just have to get it done or I miss that.
